Laptop Computer Battery, Digital Phone and Camera Battery

As you're buying batteries, it's important to find out two things: how long they last and how much they cost. You'll also want to figure out exactly how the battery works with the device, and the length of time it needs to recharge. You don't want to be on a business trip trying to figure out batteries right before a big presentation!

Nickel cadmium (NiCd) batteries were the first rechargeable laptop batteries. The advantages of these batteries were their long life, versatility and low price. Most companies no longer use NiCd batteries because there are better, more advanced options available.

Nickel metal hydride (NiMH) batteries, for example, were one better option because they had greater output, cost less, were safer and more reliable. NiMH batteries had one major drawback, though: the "memory effect." Because they had to be fully discharged before they could properly recharge, these batteries were seen as a time-consuming hassle. Older models of laptops may have these batteries.

Lithium Ion (LiON): This type of batteries has become the most popular for laptops since the "memory effect" has been eliminated, and much lighter than the other two in weight. However, the market price is also the highest.

You can now buy cell phones for a fraction of what they used to cost, but they can still involve a sizeable investment. You might have to save up to buy the cell phone you want, and you will need to budget your monthly income to accommodate the user fees and call charges. Another expense that should be considered is the cost of better cell phone batteries.

Most phones come with a basic battery, but you might want to upgrade to a higher capacity. So, as with any purchase, the cell phone battery that costs less may not be the best quality options. Basically, you get what you're paying for. If you find a high-capacity battery at a super-low price, make sure it's not restored rather than brand new. Restored cellular phone batteries are usually made with old components, and don't work as well as new ones. If you're offered a battery at an incredibly cheap price, it's probably restore.

A digital camera battery is probably the most important digital camera accessory. Some digital cameras can consume power at an alarming rate, providing no more than a few hours of continuous shooting time before the battery is drained. Other cameras are renowned for the long life of their digital camera battery which allows users to snap away with barely a thought to power consumption. It is important to know how you intend to use your camera and what type of battery it needs.

There are two types of digital camera battery. The most widely available digital camera battery is a standard AA-size battery. The other type of digital camera battery is a rechargeable battery that is made by the manufacturer, otherwise known as a proprietary battery.
