It may take a while for your subconscious mind to become in tune with your conscious mind. Use your psychic ability whenever you are thinking about anything. If you have a good idea, you should be able to tell others about it and get it out there. Say to yourself everyday, "I am psychic".
Get acquainted with psychic abilities in others and yourself by reading everything you can on the subject. If you want to become a psychic, see if you are able to study the energy and emotion of those that are around you. You can always find them fairly priced. If you are of like mind with those of the Spiritualist church, there are training circles that you might want to join.
Your psychic capacity should be practiced on a regular basis. You shouldn't feel bad if you fail sometimes as this is only natural; as a person, you can err. The realization will come to you that with increased practice comes improved performance. As you begin, allow the Tarot cards to "speak" to you instead of trying to remember what each individual card means. With practice, your mind will become trained to receive information from beyond your senses. You will accept the change, however, it will take some time, accept this as part of the training to becoming a psychic reader. Working with a tool that you can focus on (other that the tarot at first) it will enable the utilization of the psychic abilities you possess.
Psychometry is the art of holding something that belongs to the person you are reading for and getting psychic impressions while using this as a tool. Feel the object and try to connect the object to the person who owns it. Think of the data that you need entering your body through your extremities and rushing up to your brain. The answers will come as flashes of what has or is happening in the persons life, or fleeting feelings or voices inside your head. Say it as soon as it pops into your head. Make sure you remain relaxed, no matter how the information may upset you.
It will feel like your mind is moving at a different pace from the rest of the world; you will feel less input from your ordinary senses and more from your own mind. You will be surprised once the information comes to you as if it were already within you. Whether you are recording this session or someone else is taking notes, you need to mention everything you hear, feel, sense, and see in your minds eye. With the passage of time, you will be capable of being a psychic reader without relying on a focal point.
During your session as a psychic reader, make sure you explain every feeling that you have so that the sensations can be recorded. As time goes by you may be able to do this without something to focus on. You will have to try again and again in order to obtain the result of improving your psychic abilities.
Information can also come from sources outside the bodies senses and you need to get used to this. Say your phone rings, take a moment to concentrate on who may be on the end. The improvements you will see over time will amaze you! One time, I received a letter from my sister, and it was such a nice letter, but when I felt it, I got sad. The letter was handled and written by her and when I called her she said this had not made her feel bad. I may have touched on the feelings of a postal worker who spent a bit of time handling the letter. The only thing that I knew was that a person was very upset when they felt the note that is currently on its way to me.
Try to read the feelings of those close to you. Just sitting in the same room with my niece is enough to make a song lyric come to my mind. All of sudden, she seems to know that same song and begins humming it. It's difficult to deduce who receives from whom, because she might have had the tune in mind prior to actually humming it aloud. When someone sends me visual communication, I know that I'm proven to be a really great receiver.
The best recommendation I can give is to repeat this exercise and locate someone who isn't opposed to taking on a listening role while you become practiced in the reception of psychic energy. Do not get discouraged if they are not all correct. Just remember, practice actually does make a perfect and acurate psychic reader.
