Deck Of Tarot Cards

A deck of Tarot cards numbers seventy eight cards in total. The cards have two groupings which are the 'Major Arcana' group and the 'Minor Arcana' Group. Each group has its own unique function when the read by a Tarot Card reader, The Major Arcana cards are very distinctive and designed to stand out as they are of great importance.

The minor arcana is used to show the everyday events that take place. When the major arcana cards come into play, it is important that the person takes note of what they are saying. These cards show the major choices and paths in the persons life.

It is hard not to take notice of Major Arcana cards as they stand out with their bright vivid coloring and design. I'm sure this is intentional so as alert both the Tarot card reader and client of the cards importance and ensure they take note.

There are a total of twenty two cards that make up the Major Arcana and these cards go from zero to twenty one. The fool is the zero card and depicts beginning. The world is twenty one and depicts ending. The cards in between deal with such things as the trials & tribulations in a persons life, addictions of any kind (the Devil card) or matters of love (the lovers card).

When the major arcana cards show up during a reading, they are trying to inform the person of a major situation in their life. This can be something at work, such as a job promotion to a legal matter. Be sure to pay close attention to the cards, especially if they continuously show up during your reading. They could be telling you that you have to deal with a specific situation before you will be able to move ahead in your life. This could also mean there is a decision that must be made, and it will effect your future.

The Minor Arcana has the remaining fifty six cards and these cars relate to a persons life on a day by day basis and are of a lessor importance than those of the Major Arcana. These every day situations can be altered by a person. The Tarot card reader will explain how this is done.

Minor arcana cards are split up into four groups. They are pentacles, wands, cups and swords. It is common for the groups to change symbols, this is so the reader is able to understand the cards a little better and explain the meaning to the client a little clearer. An example of this is the pentacles are frequently changed into coins. This is changed to coins because the pentacle symbolizes money. The sword is a symbol of conflict. The cups symbolize relationships.

When someone is having a reading it is common for both Minor and Major Arcana cards to show up. In general because Major Arcana cards are dealing with destiny they are unable to be changed and their importance should not be underestimated. The decisions of a person can alter the minor arcana cards and are modified by the reader as information is gained.
