DSL or Cable?
There are two primary broadband Internet technologies, Cable and DSL. However, if you're not familiar with the terminology then choosing a technology can be tough. This makes picking a provider a difficult task.

With a DSL connection, customers can upload data up to 256 Kbps and download at 1.5 Mbps.
Unfortunately, DSL has a downside. The further from the provider's central office the slower the connection speed will be. But for most users this is not a problem because the disadvantage is offset by the lower monthly fees. As well as, like cable broadband, DSL offers an always-on connection.
To summarize, if you only want an always-on connection with a small monthly fee then DSL is a good fit. If you prefer the highest connection speed offered then a cable modem will suite you best.
