The Solution To Success Is Sniper Marketing

Falling under the spell of the latest guru offering the secret to becoming rich at a rapid rate via affiliate marketing schemes is pretty much part of the initiation process now days. If you haven't been taken for a sucker at least one time before realizing they don't have the answer, consider yourself lucky! They really do give affiliate marketing a bad name, encouraging people to randomly try to sell thousands of products to as many people they can. The way to understanding how to run a successful internet business is to see clearly why attempting to market thousands of products won't work.

Selling Through Shotgun Marketing Doesn't Work

The reason shotgun marketing has to be such a stab in the dark is because no one person can have enough time to effectively analyze markets and intimately learn the many facets of their products and buyers. Although you may have all good intentions, placing them, juggling them when they don't sell and desperately trying to keep track of how each one goes daily, you're only setting yourself up for failure.

How Sniper Marketing is Successful

Think of how a sniper does his job. With extreme efficiency and focus, he completes his mission successfully. Marketing effectively is similar to how a sniper carries out his mission. You focus on one market. You watch them intently and understand what motivates them, what they need and what they are willing to pay for. Once you learn these things, you then find a product or service that is perfectly matched to the people in that market.

When you struggle to handle thousands of items, it's like juggling thousands of balls: each individual ball needs a certain amount of attention, which just isn't possible when there are too many. A very important aspect of the sniper marketing method involves approaching and acquiring feedback from every market you're interested in. This is a basic rule of marketing, yet the shotgun methods still sing the praise of selling thousands? To be a success you can only sell as many products as you can track intently. As soon as you loose touch with any of them, you will find yourself back in square one.

Knowing Your Numbers Is Critical To Success

When you have only the number of products you can handle, you must also allow time to know all the figures for your products. Profit, ad spend, profit margins and any ongoing returns for pay-per-click campaigns, adgroups or products should be in the forefront of your mind. If you aren't keeping close track, the thousands competing with you in your market will overtake you. (Yet again another reason why shotgun marketers fail to succeed.)

If you are driven to be successful and you ensure that you understand the market, know the motivations of the consumers and know the figures for all your ins and outs, you can make money. To be a true competitor, offering thousands of products isn't an option: Many have tried and many have failed. Choose products and markets that interest you and don't have ridiculous expectations over becoming rich overnight with no effort. It does take a little time, but you will get results quickly if you aim before you shoot.
