Free site traffic using SEO tactics.
Whenever you are searching for anything on the web, the chances are that you use search engines to find what you are looking for. So, when you are running your search in Google, for example, have you ever paused a moment to wonder how it is that some websites are able to achieve such outstanding search engine rankings?
Assume that you are searching for online dating. So, you type 'online dating' into the search box on Google, and you see around 122 million results.
However, you also know that out of all those millions of results, there are only 10 websites that can appear on the first results page. With all those countless millions of people searching for online dating information every day, imagine how many thousands of visitors would visit your dating site if your site were to appear on that top ten page.
Even appearing on the second page would still drive hundreds of visitors to your site, because, perhaps surprisingly, most people who are seriously searching online will stretch their search efforts as far as the second results page.
That is, however, unfortunately about as far as it goes. If your site is rated outside the top 20 results that are shown on the first two pages, then the amount of free visitors that will come to your site from the search engine results is likely to be extremely limited.
Now, take this analogy one stage further and imagine that your site appeared on the first page of every major search engine results for online dating. In this situation, it will be almost impossible not to earn substantial revenues through your site simply because of the number of visitors who were dropping by your site every day.
It would simply be natural that, should your site appear on the first search page in all the major engines, then you cannot fail to make money every day, and all that money will have been generated by free advertising!
No matter what your business, this situation is the dream of anybody trying to sell products or services online.
It is, however, not an impossible dream! The great news is that it doesn't take a great deal of money, or any special knowledge or skills to achieve these sorts of results.
You should not, however, be tempted by the many 'dubious' shortcuts products that you will see the sale all over the net that promise that they can do this for you in a day or two if you will only 'invest' your $97 in their e-book..
But, as crazy as it may sound, this is exactly what many online marketers will do, and the biggest problem with many of these products is that many of the ideas that they teach are in breach of the search engines own 'Terms of Service'. What this means is your site is quite likely to get banned in double quick time, rather than enjoying the exceptional results that you had hoped to achieve.
If, on the other hand, you learn and apply the correct search engine optimization tactics, then it is relatively simple to create a torrent of free traffic for your website. And, because these tactics are all completely acceptable under the engines 'ToS', there is every possibility that your site will enjoy long-term search engine success as well.
In other words, by doing the job right, whilst there are no guarantees that you will always stay on the first results page, you should nevertheless enjoy a constantly increasing flow of visitors.
Going back a few years, search engine optimization was really the only way of sending new visitors to your site without having to pay advertising fees in order to do so.
This is, however, no longer necessarily the case, as other tactics are now every bit as important as SEO. Notwithstanding this, your site should still be fully optimized for the search engines, and, given that it only takes an hour or two to achieve, it is not a great deal of hard work either.
There is no mystery or magic about generating free traffic from search engine optimization. It is a simple step-by-step process, but one that needs to be done correctly from the beginning if you seriously want to see your website on the first page at Google or Yahoo.
