Sport is an activity that is regulated by sets of rules and regulation and often taken as competition. It commonly refers to those activities where the physical capability of an individual is the primary determinant of the result. But the term is also used for the activities where mind plays the major part such as Cards game, Chess or Board Games, and is called Mind games.

It is commonly defined as the organized and set competitive and skillful activities which require commitment and fair play. Some people take games as higher level of organization and in which loosing and winning are taken as the loss and profit of the individual or the team which completely differs from the game. Records are maintained for most of the games and the winning or loosing is widely announced.

This term sometimes extend to involve activities in which offence and defense are played avoiding the level of physical activity. The games of skill and motor, sometimes outcast many of the characteristics of physical activities such as sportsmanship, the physical fitness etc. and also physical activities at higher level are associated with professional sponsorship.

Some games are individually judged and are different from other judged activities such as beauty pageants and body building shows because in such activities performance on the stage is the primary focus of evaluation rather than the physical attributes.

Activities at times are also played for fun and leisure or for the simple fact that one need to exercise and keep oneself physical fit and to stay in good physical condition. Any game participants are always expected to play in good sportsmanship, maintain the standards of conduct such as paying respect to the opponent team or players and congratulating the winner when you loose, to play with fair and equal means no sort of unethical ways should be used.

Different games at times take form of recreation for the participants it is also played in front of audience. Most of the professional entertaining activities are played in a stadium or an open area with the provision for the public to sit and watch (though they have to pay for this).
