If Bill Gates Sold Maternity And Infant Wear

As an online merchant who sells unique funny maternity and infant wear I understand the importance of bundling products. It not only helps create sales, but more importantly makes the customer happier. Because I can bundle, I'm able to sell something that wouldn't otherwise exist in the marketplace, and something much more memorable than what already exists.

Did you ever wonder how the term "bundled products" received such a bad name? It all started with the milestone case of Netscape Vs. Microsoft several years back.

Though bundling has been with us since early times, it was the auto industry that made it popular. As it evolved over the years it started adding spare tires, air-conditioning, and now even GPS as standard inclusive with the price. That is simple bundling. It helps sell cars and saves the consumer time and money so they don't have to buy those added features elsewhere.

Home theater systems add a remote control. More bundling.

So why did Microsoft get so much flack for "bundling Internet Explorer" when Netscape had a browser on the market at least five years prior to them? I still ask that question, and, according to my research, so do a lot of constitutional legal experts, not to mention The Wall Street Journal.

I would never buy a computer without operating system software included, and I bet you wouldn't either. It would be a bit silly to pay more for what you get included. And if the monitor is included, so much the more better. Again, a perfect example of "bundling products".

I have nothing against Netscape, and, in fact, I think they make a very good browser. But I do question, not based on expertise, but on business studies and even being a consumer, why, the fact that I.E is bundled, is so bad? The question has never been fully-answered to me.

By bundling my maternity and infant wear, and matching gifts (and even coffee mugs), I give the baby and parents an opportunity to not only express who they are, but do it together in a way that is so much fun to be captured in video and photography. So I am very proud of bundling my funny baby clothes with matching funny dog sweaters, coffee mugs, gifts, collectibles, and even humorous maternity wear.

And while we are on the topic of photography, cameras and digicams generally are packaged with lens included. Another example of bundling products.
