Wedding toasts are meant to be light hearted most of the time. Although I do understand why a lot people get emotional while delivering their speech. Instead of telling you how not to get emotional, I would rather just provide some humorous quotes that you might be able to work into your speech somehow.

Just please keep in mind, you always want to keep your toasts tasteful. I was sitting in a wedding a couple of months ago and when a friend of the groom got up to say something and then referred to what was going to happen later that night, it was just an awkward feeling. Just remember to keep things light hearted but try not to say things that would make the bride or groom feel uncomfortable. The same applies to the guests that will be listening in on what you have to say.
