Let us talk about sports in general. Sports are governed by set of rules and regulations. In this aspect the physical fitness and capabilities of the participant is the sole primary determination. This is a well organized competitive and a skillful physical activity requiring commitment and fair play. Modern sports have rules and are highly organized. The entertainment aspect of sports, together with the spread of mass media and increased leisure time has led to professionalism in sports.

Most of the time, politics and sports have a large amount of influence on each other.

Sports have many affinities with art. Some sports like ice skating, tai chi and dance sport, etc are sports that come close to artistic spectacles in themselves.

Technology
Technology has an important role in sports. Equipment have grown more competitive
And the need for better equipment is always there.
Health ranging from nutrition to the treatment of injuries is a prime need for athletes. Athletes are now able to perform to an older age due to quick recovery from injuries.

Spectator Sport
Much sport is played in front of an audience. This gives an audience a form of recreation. Most professional sport is played in a stadium or arena.
Large television sets are very popular and it draws the audience. Many rival broadcasters bid large amounts to win the bid to broadcast.
