A pool can be shaped into so many interesting shapes. The material that can be molded so easily is concrete. There are infinite possibilities in design using concrete. Talk about high maintenance though concrete doe take some work to take car of. More chemicals eve need to be added to maintain water integrity. Concrete has to be scrubbed more and more crackage happens to concrete.
Have you seen some of the designs that vinyl liners come in? Some of them are breathtakingly beautiful. Some even look like marble or are trimmed with elaborate designs. An artistic pool owner could even create a masterpiece of their own and put their monogram on it. If you want to cut down on the scrub time have an algaecide added into the vinyl. Yes you really can add that to the liner to cut down on the growth of algae. Did you know that if the ground happens to do some shimmying and shifting that the pool structure for the vinyl pools will shimmy and shift with it.
Fiberglass pools can come in many configurations on their size, shape, and layout. The surface texture of fiberglass is so smooth that this cuts done on even the vacuuming and amount you have to clean because grime and such cannot cling to it. Thank goodness that algae cannot even stick to it. There are mixed reviews on which pool is good for the cold winter. Some say concrete is better cause it does not need to be kept with water in it. Some say Fiberglass is better even though it needs water it. You will have to question you preferred pool guy for the answer to this one.
Whatever form of design you choose you should be able to find plenty of ideas from contractors, online and even in pool stores. Remember your pool and yard actually create an outdoor room extension of sorts to your house. You can actually tie the two styles together if you want. Somewhere in the process of deciding what form your pool will take consult a pool professional to make sure you are on the right track.
One thing you may want to add is a waterfall. Even if you like a more posh motif as far as decor a waterfall can be made to fit that style. Personally the waterfalls flowing down rocks sounds great and would really make anyone feel like they were on vacation. Another kind is a waterfall that is more like a sheet of water. Water sounds are most melodic to most people.
Diving boards come in a variety of sizes. They are also made from different materials such as fiberglass. You will totally enjoy this additional attachment to your pool. Many swimmers are also very good divers too. Need to think protectively about diving though so no one gets hurts.
Do you remember ever sliding down a slide into a pool of water? Waterslides were not always around but there were regular slides to slide into water. Oh what great fun we had as kids at the pool climbing the slides and scooting down then that splash into the water.
It does not matter how you have your pool created. Maybe you will choose a pool pro to do it or maybe you will hop on the Internet and create your own. You can have the perfect summer getaway in your own yard. A great place to enjoy fellowship with people close to you. An outdoor cooking area would add to the fun. Delight in having a new pool and redesigned yard.
